There are many functions of blood. Here are some examples:
-Blood delivers oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body.
-It transports carbon dioxide to the lungs to remove it.
-Blood transports other waste to the kidneys for removal.
-Vitamins and sugars, are some of the nutrients blood delivers to cells.
-Blood carries special cells that fight germs in the body.
-Blood also carries hormones, the messenger chemicals that regulate body processes.
-Blood promotes healing by clotting at wounds.
